- COMING IN 4.0
- -------------
-
- I am working on a direct 12--bitplane printing routine that will
- speedup up output a tenfold as well as saving some of you precious ribbon.
- Sadly I won't get around to this for some time, current projects come first!
-
- CHANGES IN 3.2
- --------------
-
- 3.2 fixes a bug that appears when you try to display NON-SHAM pics.
- I corrected it by eliminating the possibility to show them. This might
- dissappoint some people but just consider: there are A LOT of good IFF
- viewers out there, I don't intend to compete with them. SuperSHAM is just
- a SHAM previewer and printer. It's MAIN purpose is to allow people to print
- these beautiful pictures without distortion.
-
- CHANGES IN 3.1
- --------------
-
- I added the possibility to advance through the pictures by pressing
- any key. If you press the LEFT mouse button you will FREEZE the picture
- and the keyboard will have no effect. You can still use the menu button
- to display your choices. This allows you to scroll through many pictures
- just by using the keyboard. When you find the one you want to print, you
- click the menu button and select print. At this point clicking the mouse
- still stops the printing.
-
- DOCS FOR 3.0
- ------------
-
- SuperSHAM is utility program that allows you to view and/or print any Amiga
- SHAM mode picture. It does this by modifying the color registers that are
- used at every scan line. In effect the computer never notices that the
- palette is being modified, but you do. To see this, load a SHAM image in a
- normal viewer and notice how the palette is all distorted. Printing such
- a picture would also produce bad results. That is why SuperSHAM uses a
- special internal algorithm to change the colors the printer device sees at
- each line. It is for this reason that printing a SHAM picture takes so
- long. The printer has to do it one line at a time.
-
-
- SuperSHAM allows you to pass it Workbench projects or CLI argumetns. It
- will then load the picture and wait for you to press the menu button. At
- this point it will present you with a requester to let you choose whether
- you want to PRINT the image or go on either to the next image or simply to
- quit. If you choose to print the image and then decide to stop it, just
- hit the any mouse button. This will cause SuperSHAM to return to input
- mode where it will once again wait for you to select the menu button.
-
- When printing make sure your preferences are properly set. Best results can
- be obtained BY:
-
- - Using high quality bond paper gives crisper colors.
- - Using friction feed instead of tractor feed. It minimizes
- the horizontal banding.
- - Using the lowest or second lowest density setting allows for
- pictures that are less muddy or dark. Only use higher densities
- If your sure you don't like the lower ones.
-
- Happy printing!
